Abstract This presentation describes the Applied Mathematics Group at The Boeing Company. It gives an overview of the organization, its people, the business model, and a sampling of some interesting applications that we have worked on over the years. Thomas Grandine is a specialist in geometric modeling and numerical analysis in the Mathematics and Engineering Analysis group in Phantom Works. His areas of expertise include curve and surface modeling, numerical approximation, splines, and multidisciplinary design optimization. He has extensive experience in computational methods for both design and manufacturing applications.
